Respite care

Respite care for informal carers in Zundert

Do you care intensively for your partner or loved one? Then it may be necessary to take time for yourself from time to time and temporarily hand over the care to someone else. This is called respite care, also called substitute care.

Respite care can be used in different ways:

  • Home, where a volunteer or professional takes over care temporarily.

  • Outdoors, for example in a care facility, during a weekend or holiday.

  • Structural or incidental, depending on what you need.

It is prudent not to wait until the care becomes too heavy, but to consider in good time which forms of respite care best suit your situation.

Costs and reimbursements of respite care

The cost of respite care in Zundert depends on the facility chosen. In some cases, respite care is free, for example when volunteers provide the care or when it is a public facility. The municipality or health insurer may also reimburse facilities in whole or in part.

Respite care funded (in part) from statutory schemes often requires an indication. Depending on the care required, this indication is determined.
