Dementia

The number of residents with dementia is rising. This also means that an even greater number of family members, friends and neighbours are or will be affected by the consequences of dementia. Zundert municipality is a dementia-friendly municipality. This means that the municipality actively works to enable people with dementia and their informal carers to participate in society for as long as possible.

Alzheimer's Café
The Alzheimer's Café is a meeting place for people with dementia, their partners, families, informal carers, carers and other interested parties. During the Alzheimer Café meetings, you can learn more about dementia, ask experts and meet fellow sufferers. Each Alzheimer Café focuses on one theme. Every 2nd Thursday of the month, from 19.00 to 21.30, an Alzheimer's Café takes place in De Willaert. This is organised by various organisations. Each time, a theme related to dementia is discussed. You are welcome if you have dementia yourself. But also if you know someone with dementia or suspect that someone close to you has dementia. Admission is free.
