Inspiration box with smart tools for informal carers

Informal care is valuable, but it can also be tough. Caring for someone close to you demands a lot of your time and energy. You could use some support. Surplus has developed a special Inspiration Kit full of smart tools to support and relieve you.

Why an Inspiration Suitcase can help you
The Inspiration Suitcase is full of innovative tools to support informal carers in their daily tasks. It ranges from simple tools and apps to technological aids. Some tools are free, some cost money. Small or large: all tools help you take better care of your loved one, or give your loved one more independence. Because the tools enable them to do some tasks themselves again. This gives more control and leaves you more time for yourself.

Examples from our practice

  • Greater independence: Tom, who has had a stroke, wants to contribute to his family. The CookingApp allows him to cook independently again, step by step. This gives him self-confidence and it relieves his wife.
  • More freedom of movement: Gert has dementia and was not allowed to go out alone by his loved ones. A smart watch with GPS allows him to walk safely again, while his wife worries less.
  • More structure and overview: A BBrain calendar clock or the Daymate App helps plan the day and provides support for both the informal carer and the carer.
  • Health and wellness: Assistive devices such as a blood pressure monitor or a sleep robot (Somnox) help with physical and mental health.
  • Safety at home: Think of an SOS button or a sensor lamp that automatically turns on when someone gets out of bed at night.

Try it yourself!
